Common Causes of Air Conditioner Failure

There can be many issues that cause an Air Conditioning Unit to stop cooling. Here are some common reasons

• Dirty Air Filter – Something as simple as a dirty air filter can cause a lot of damage to your system. A dirty air filter can impede air flow causing your air conditioning system to freeze up and work harder.
• Frozen Evaporator Coil – This is essentially a block of ice that develops around your system.
• Coolant Leak (Freon) – Without coolant your unit is not able to cool effectively, if at all.
• System Need Recharging (Freon) – This can be an early indication that there may be a small leak in your system.
• Bad Thermostat – Sometime the thermostat simple goes out and needs replacing.
• Electrical Issues – Bad wiring or a shortage can cause issues
